In spite of the peace and quiet in the countryside, nearby is the large municipality Hoogeveen also a vibrant area with wonderful events such as the 'Pulledagen', but also an air show at Airport Hoogeveen. Parking is free at most events outside the city, sometimes only a small fee is charged for the use of farmland.
